7. Selection :

Selection for admission shall be made strictly on the basis of inter-se merit of the candidate

as per the following.

Aggregate marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics on satisfaction

of condition of eligibility given in Rule 4.

8. Procedure for Admission:

8.1 A consolidated Provisional Merit List of all the candidates applied for admission,

irrespective of castes or categories in order of merit shall be displayed on the Notice Board

of the institution.

8.2 Any candidate seeking admission to a course covered by these rules shall have a right to

raise an objection if he/she has any reason to believe that merit is not given correctly or his

/ her name is omitted from the merit list.

8.3 The candidate raising an objection shall lodge a complaint in writing three days of

exhibition of provisional merit list, about his / her objection, stating therein the reason which

led him / her to believe that omission and / or merit indicated is improper, with sufficient

evidence to support his / her objection. Mere expression of suspicion or doubt shall not be

sufficient to warrant an enquiry.

8.4 The admitting authorities shall make enquires about such complaint on the basis of

evidence tendered, and decide whether the objections raised are proved. If the objections

are proved, merit of the candidate shall be corrected. After considering the objections and

following the procedure mentioned above, a final merit list shall be exhibited. The Admission

Center shall also display a schedule of admission on it Notice Board. Candidates are advised

to see the schedule and attend the respective rounds for admission

8.5 Admissions shall be given on merit as per the final merit list, starting from the top of the

merit list, with due regulation of admissions as under.

Round – I – All the candidates (open/reserved/male/female) of all the categories, as per

regional level general merit list will be considered for admission at the respective Admission

Centers for admission, as per their inter se merit. The candidate may select any seat from

the seats available at that point of time. Reserved category candidates shall be admitted in

open category by virtue of their merit, or, in their respective category of reservation, if open

category seats are not available as per their merit. SBC category candidates shall be

admitted in open category by virtue of their merit, or, in their original category of

reservation, if open category seats are not available as per their merit. For the female

candidates, the seat availability shall be checked in the following order: (i) in the seats

reserved for females in category, or, (ii) in the seats reserved for females in respective caste

category, or

(iii) in the general seats in open category, or

(iv) in the general seats in their respective caste

category, and the first available seat in that order shall be allotted to

them.

Round-II- (i) On completion of Round – if any of the backward class categories mentioned

above, does not get the required number of candidates for the percentages laid down, the

seats so remaining vacant shall first be filled in from amongst all the candidates (male and

female) of Special Backward Class (SBC) category, as per their regional level general merit

list, limited to the extent of two percent seats of sanctioned intake capacity of different

courses in various institute, if available. Such seats for SBC category shall be filled, if

available, for female candidates separately, provided vacancies exist in female quota. The

seats ans-serif">seats shall be made available from any of the categories of

reservation wherever vacancies exist after Round- I. After doing so, the seats remaining

vacant, if any, from amongst the seats for female candidates, shall be offered to all the SBC

category candidates (male/female) as per regional level inter se merit.

(ii) After doing so. The seats remaining vacant in the respective group of categories as

mentioned below, shall be offered to candidates from the respective group with reference to

their regional level general merit list, by adopting the procedure as mentioned below, for

each of the group :

Group 1 : i) Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Castes converts to Buddhism (SC)
ii) Scheduled Tribes including those living outside the specified areas (ST)

:: Foreign Nationals: Citizens of all countries other than India, who are not of Indian origin as

defined under PIO.

Group 2 : i) Vimukta Jati (VJ)
ii) Nomadic Tribes (NT1)
Group 3 i) Nomadic Tribes 2 (NT2)
ii) Nomadic Tribes 3 (NT3)
ii) Nomadic Tribes 3 (NT3)
iii) Other Backward Class (OBC)

For example, the seats remaining vacant in SC and ST categories after Round – II – (i), shall

first be offered to all the SC and ST candidates (male and female) as per their inter se merit

. After doing so, the seats remaining vacant, if any, from amongst the seats for female

candidates in this group, shall be offered to all the candidates (male/female) in this group, as

per their inter se merit. The reserved category candidates already admitted in Round - I but

desirous of seeking change to a seat that was not available to them at that point of time

shall attend this round for a change. The reserved category candidates who are not

admitted in Round – I, may attend this Round for a fresh admission. Seats falling vacant due

to changes in admissions shall be made available to the next candidate in merit from the

respective group.

Round – III – The seats remaining vacant in reserved categories after completion of Round –

II, shall be made available to all the candidates (male and female) of all the reserved

categories together, on the basis of their inter sec merit. list. After doing so, the seats

remaining vacant, if any, from amongst the seats for female candidates, shall be offered to

the entire reserved category candidates (male/female), as per their inter se merit.The

reserved category candidates who are already admitted in Round – I or II may attend this

round for a fresh admission.

Round – IV- After completion of Round – III, the seats remaining vacant, if any, shall be filled

with reference to inter se merit of all the candidates (open/reserved/male/female). In this

stage, male candidates shall not be admitted against the seats reserved for female

candidates. After doing so, the seats remaining vacant, if any, from amongst the seats

reserved for female candidates, shall be offered to all the candidates, (open/reserved/male

/female) as per their inter se merit.


Those candidates who are not admitted in Round- I or II or III earlier, may attend this round

for a fresh admission

If a candidate reports to the Admission Center later than the time and date given, he or she

shall be considered for a admission against the seats available at that point of time for

his/her category if the particular round of admission is still going on. Similar procedure shall

be followed for the candidates who report with the modified marks after verification duly

certified by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, or the

concerned examination body.

8.6 The Principal of every Institute/Institute shall forward, to the Joint Director of Technical

Education of the region in which the institute is located, a complete list of students who are

admitted to the Institute. The full details as may be prescribed by him/her be submitted

within a week from the last date of admission.

9. Relative Merit in Case of Equal Marks

In case of candidates securing equal number of marks, their relative merit list for admission

to Diploma Course in Pharmacy will be reassessed inter-se on the basis of the following.

(a) A candidate passing qualifying examination with higher grand total shall be given priority.

(b) A Candidate passing the S.S.C. examination or equivalent examination with higher grand

total shall be given higher second priority.

(c) A candidate who secures marks in the subject of Biology at qualifying examination shall

be given third priority.

(d) A candidate who secures higher marks in the subject of physics at H.S.C. or equivalent

examination shall be given fourth priority.
