| 5.2.2
Defence Services Personnel (DSP) |
Five
percent (5%) seats of the total sanctioned intake, subject to a maximum
of five (5)
seats
in each Government
and Non Government-Aided institutes shall be reserved for sons
and
daughters of defence service
personnel, including those permanently disabled or killed in
action.
These seats shall be within the sanctioned
intake of the institute. This reservation
shall be applicable, subject to the following. |
(i)
In case of active defence service personnel domiciled in the state of
Maharashtra, the
candidate
shall be eligible for admission, even if he/ she does not satisfy the
condition stated
in Rule
5, irrespective of whether the defence service personnel are posted
within
Maharashtra
or outside Maharashtra, as on the last
date of submission of application form. |

Such
candidates shall have to produce the domicile Certificate
of the father/mother, who is
an active defence service personnel, as the case may be, along
with
their application form.
In case of mother’s domicile certificate, the candidate
shall submit an affidavit
on Rs. 10
stamp
paper, stating that the person in whose name the domicile certificate
is issued,is
the
mother of the candidate. |

| (ii)
In case of active defence service personnel not domiciled in the state
of Maharashtra,
but posted
in Maharashtra,
as on the last date of submission of application form, the
candidate
shall be eligible for admission even though he/she does not satisfy
the condition
|
state
in Rule 5. Such candidates shall have to
produce a copy of the transfer order, subsequent
joining report, and
a certificate from
his/ her office stating that
the father/ mother,
who is an active defence service personnel, is not transferred
outside Maharashtra after
joining duties in Maharashtra, along with
their application form. |

(iii)
The candidate who desires to claim a seat reserved for sons and daughters
of ex-service
personnel,shall
be eligible for admission even though he/ she does not satisfy the condition
stated
in Rule 5. They will
be required to produce a domicile certificate of his or her father /
mother,
who is an ex-defence service
personnel as the case may be. In case of mother’s
domicile
certificate, the candidate shall submit
an affidavit on Rs. 10 stamp paper, stating
that the
person in whose name the domicile certificate is
issued, is the mother of the
candidate. |
Note
:
The domicile certificate issued by the Government Authorities in the
State of
Maharashtra
such as
Executive Magistrate, Sub Divisional Magistrate or as authorized by
the
District
magistrate shall only be
acceptable. The domicile certificate by choice or domicile
certificate
for educational purpose shall not
be considered. |

| (iv)
To be eligible for the these seats, the following
conditions shall apply : |
a)
The candidate is a son or daughter of the person who has been a member
of the Armed
Forces
of India
and who has put in at lease 5 years of active service and has been subject
to Indian
Army Act. Indian
Navy Act. Indian Air Force Act and also includes ex-servicemen
who retired
from such service or
were permanently disable or killed in action. The condition
of minimum
active service of 5 years shall not
be applicable to the service personnel who are
permanently
disabled or killed in action.

b)
The candidate shall be required to produce a certificate in the
prescribed proforma, i.e.
Proforma
A,from the appropriate authority of the Armed Forces in the rank
of Commandant or
equivalent or form District Sainik Board, certifying that the
candidate fulfills the condition (a)
above. |

| 5.2.3
Female Candidates (FE) |
1)
30% seats of the sanctioned intake, in all the Government, Non-Government
aided, un
aided institutes
and autonomous institutions shall be reserved for female candidates
in all the
case where
the seats
are open for male as well as female candidates.
|
2)
This reservation shall be a horizontal reservation in the different
categories like open, SC,
ST, VJ,
NT 1, NT 2, NT 3, OBC and SBC. For example, if the sanctioned intake
is 60, then
13% seats
out of 60, i.e. 8 seats shall be reserved for SC category candidates.
Out of these
8 seats,
30% seats, i.e. 2 seats
shall be reserved for female SC category candidates. If
female
SC category candidates do not become
available, then these 2 seats shall be offered
to male
SC category candidates. Similar procedure
shall be adopted for the reservation of
seats for
female candidates in other categories also. |

| 6.0
Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin ( PIOs) |
| 15%seats
of the sanctioned intake of each course in all institutes offering post
HSC Diploma is reserved for Foreign Nationals/ Persons of Indian Origin
(PIOs). |
These
seats are over and above the sanctioned intake capacity for each course.
The
candidates
aspiring for admission under this category shall fulfill the eligibility
criteria as
mentioned
in
rule – 5 along with satisfying any one of the following conditions.

::
Foreign Nationals: Citizens of all countries other than India, who are
not of Indian origin as
defined
under
PIO. |
::
Foreign Student: Foreign Student of this context shall define as the
student who
Possesses
a foreign passport. |
::
The Principals of the concerned Polytechnics act as the Admission authority
for admission
under
this quota. |
::
The individual Polytechnics have to invite applications for this quota
and conduct the
admissions
strictly
on the basis of merit. |
::
If sufficient candidates do not take admission in any course in any
institute under this
quota,
the vacancies
shall remain as it is. |
| ::
Under any condition, the vacant seats under this category shall be offered
to other candidates. |
