Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (SPM) was founded in the year 1960 with generous donation from Shri Bhikulalji Nabira

so as to spread higher education in this area as it lacked the facility for higher education. Late Barrister

S.K.Wankhede (The creator of famous Wankhede Cricket Stadium, Mumbai) was the founder President of

Shikshan Prasarak Mandal till his death. He was a man of vision and under his dynamic leadership, academic

activities leading to specialisations in various fields were started. Nabira Mahavidyalaya was established in 1961

intially with Arts faculty only. Science and commerce faculties were started later. Besides these, college of

Education and pharmacy college were started. A number of self financing courses are going on in. The college

such as electronics,computer science B.B.A post graduation in chemistry, Post graduation in history and M.B.A

Post Graduation in Mathematics has been Introduced from the academic session 2007-08. Diploma in education

course too has been stated recently. Though situated at a Taluka place, the college competes With any reputed

institution in bigger citieswith respect to in infrastructure Facilities nd highly qualified Teaching facilities.

Under the dynamic leadership of the present President, Dr Raju Deshmukh and the guidance of all honorable

member of S.P.M all the institutes are flourishing.
